ADAC GT Masters: "The League of Dream Cars"
Launched in 2007, the ADAC GT Masters has rapidly developed into one of the most popular racing series for GT3 cars in Europe: 25 teams and 11 different models of car will line up in the 2013 GT Masters, which DEKRA supports as Series Partner. However, the racing series is not intended to provide a playground for automobile manufacturers, but exclusively for motorsport-mad privateers. These include well-known names like DTM legend Bernd Schneider and the former DTM pilot Rahel Frey.
Besides the big-name drivers, the cars are the stars of the show in the GT Masters: Audi R8 LMS ultra, Corvette Z06.R GT3, Porsche 911 GT3 R, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, BMW Z4 GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo R-EX, Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, Bentley Continental GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 and Chevrolet Camaro GT. It is not without good reason that the ADAC GT Masters is known unofficially as "The League of Dream Cars".
ADAC Masters Weekends feature a 60-minute race on both Saturday and Sunday. Each car is shared by two drivers, who must swap places in the cockpit during every race. This helps to ensure that the races remain exciting right down to the final corner, thus making them particularly attractive for spectators.
"Very few other series offer the fans such a fantastic opportunity to both see and hear fascinating automotive technology as the ADAC GT Masters," says Sabine Knaupp, Head of Marketing at DEKRA Automobil GmbH. "As such, the appropriately known 'League of Dream Cars' is a perfect presentation platform for Europe's leading technical support organisation, DEKRA." DEKRA is a long-term partner of motor racing and is not only committed to the ADAC GT Masters and the ATS Formula 3 Cup, but has also been involved in the DTM since 1989. "Our globally active company always puts the focus on safety in motorsport," says Knaupp.
